Local Company Supports A Cause

Bill Dunn sold soap for national companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Murphy's and SoftSoap for more than 40 years. Now that he's retired, he's selling soap again, but this time he's selling it to raise money for breast cancer research and to maintain interest for this type of research that goes beyond October, which has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Bill and his wife, Dee, started Pink Ribbon Naturals earlier in September. The Dunns sell natural, handcrafted liquid soaps and lotions, which sell for about $10, and donate the profits to organizations such as the Aspirus Health Foundation (and other Wisconsin foundations)  the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Dunn hopes to be able to donate $20,000 to $25,000 a year.

Peace of mind and awareness were the priorities when these products were created. Since what goes on your skin, goes into your body, they developed safe, high quality, sulfate (and Paraben)  free products that give users a protective and proactive choice for skin care. The product line includes Organic Body Wash, Organic Hand Soap, Organic Hand Lotion, Organic Body Butter, and Organic Body Crème. The ingredients in the products are (70-90) percent certified organic and meet the Whole Foods Premium Care Product standard as well as the approval from the Ecocert Organic Certification Board.

Pink Ribbon Naturals is part of The Howdy Company LLC which is a socially conscious company dedicated to bringing education and awareness to women through the inventive use of instructions on the package for how to conduct a breast exam. This creative tactic not only instructs on the proper method for the exam, but offers a gentle and enjoyable reminder to do the exams.

Pick Ribbon Naturals is certified as a “Made in Wisconsin” company and located in Rothschild, Wisconsin. The Howdy Company LLC makes contributions from profits from the sales of its Pink Ribbon Naturals line to both local and (state wide) non-profit breast health foundations to aid in furthering education and research to end breast cancer.

Pink Ribbon Naturals products are available at Trig's and Gordy’s County Market in Wausau and the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Gift Shop. For more information, call 715-297-8866, or go to www.pinkribbonnaturals.com.
